Are Apartments in Dumbo Brooklyn Nicer than Fort Greene?

When you start talking about luxury apartment buildings, do you think there is a big difference between them?  I mean, they all have those certain standard conveniences you come to expect like a doorman, and a concierge desk.  What really makes one better than another?  I think the difference is the staff and the management company.

How well they take care of the property is important.  All buildings and apartments are nice when they are new, but how they are maintained over the course of a lifetime is what makes the difference.

There is a family owned real estate development firm in Brooklyn that has 12 properties in the New York area called Two Trees Management.  With 6 properties in Dumbo, and 1 in Fort Greene, I think the answer to the question is apartments in Fort Greene Brooklyn are just as nice as apartments in Dumbo Brooklyn.

Let me give you an example of a 1 bedroom apartment at 300 Ashland Place, which is a luxury building in Fort Greene, that is managed by Two Trees Management.  First of all, within the building you can see art presented by the MCADA.  Second, the address is in the middle of the Brooklyn Cultrual District, with the BAM Harvey Theater close by.

If you are a tenant at 300 Ashland Place, you have access to the rooftop deck with lounge areas, and a yoga platform. There is also a 24 hour state of the art health club on the 29th floor with cardio equipment, a free weight area, and yoga studio.  You also have the standard type stuff like a 24 hour doorman, a 24 hour front desk concierge, a bike room, and a parking garage.

A typical 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit would be like unit 20D.  It is 657 sqft, and rent is $3780 per month. The Kitchen is equipped with stainless steel Bosch appliances, and has Caesarstone and stainless steel countertops.  The stove and refrigerator are against the front wall, and the sink with garbage disposal is in the island that separates the kitchen from the living room.  There is an under the counter dishwasher on the right end of the island. There is a stackable washer and dryer in the unit next to the bathroom.  The living room is about 12’6″ x 16′ and the bedroom is 11′ x 13’6″.  The windows in th eliving room have solar shades, and the bedroom windows have black out shades.  There is a double wide closet in the bedroom with custom shelving.  THere is ceiling mounted LED energy efficient track lighting in both the living room and the bedroom.  The apartment has white oak hardwood floors in all rooms.
